The Real Time Trades group has been around for over ten years now, and most of our time has been on the Investools website. We meet online to discuss (primarily) the long term investment strategies covered in this blog. Our group uses a couple of paper-trading accounts that follow our investment rules and guidelines.
Synthetics: Our synthetic long stock strategy focuses on using the leverage offered by options to obtain some pretty significant returns. These investments fall into the "get rich" category of our investments. While they are low maintenance, they must be monitored at least every few days.
Global Investing: Our global investing account is benchmarked to the ACWI. This account is used for our longer term holdings that require very little monitoring (monthly or quarterly is usually adequate). This falls into the "stay rich" category of our investments.
Recorded Meetings: Not everyone can attend our online meetings live, so this section of the site includes links to recordings of our meetings.
Performance Analysis: We monitor our account monthly, but measure it quarterly. This tab will show the results of our analysis and how our performance compares to our benchmark. Note that the analysis provided does not include "deposits" made to our paper account, and it does include dividends paid by our benchmark.
Seizing the Dream: Having something to work towards is important, and that's what this blog is. Seizing the Dream is a journal of our travels, hiking, and a related stuff that we enjoy.
